Chief Executive Officer

Arne Hassel

Arne Hassel is the Chief Executive Officer with responsibility for all parts of the firm. He joined IPM in July 2019, bringing close to 30 years of financial industry and investment experience. Prior to joining he was Chief Investment Officer for Barclays Investment Solutions, after having been Head of Investments at Coutts Private Bank. Other previous roles include Co-Head of Multi-Asset Allocation at Universities Superannuation Scheme, the largest pension fund in the UK, and Head of Global Currency Management and Head of the Hedge Fund Strategies Group for Europe and Asia at Goldman Sachs Asset Management. Arne holds an M.Sc. in Economics from the Stockholm School of Economics and studied subjects equivalent to a BA in Political Science and BSc in Biotechnology at Uppsala University.

Chief Investment Officer & Head of Research

Björn Österberg

Björn Österberg is responsible for the management and development of IPM’s investment activities. He is a member of the Investment and Risk Management committees. Björn joined IPM in 2008, with extensive experience in managing quantitative research teams as well as in proprietary trading in a range of asset classes. Prior to IPM he was Head of Quantative Research and a member of the proprietary trading team at JP Bank, Head of Quantitative Research at Unibank/Nordea, and a Senior Equity Portfolio Manager at AP4. Björn holds an M.Sc. in Engineering Physics from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, and has several years of additional studies in both Financial Economics and Macro Economics from Stockholm University.

Chief Operating Officer

Stuart Abel

Stuart Abel is Chief Operating Officer at IPM, responsible for the firm’s overall operational capabilities. He oversees operations, data management, and finance and is a member of the Risk Management committee. Stuart joined IPM in 2015, bringing with him extensive experience from the sell-side having spent the majority of his career within the Prime Brokerage divisions of Société Générale (formerly Newedge/ Fimat) and most recently Citigroup. Stuart started his career in e-commerce, working within Business Strategy, Business Development and Operations. Stuart holds a BSc in Biology from the University of Manchester and is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA).

Chief Client Officer

Serge Houles, CFA, FRM

Serge Houles is responsible for the Investment Strategy and Client Services teams and bears the overall responsibility for servicing IPM’s existing clients. Prior to joining IPM in 2013, he has over 15 years of experience from the hedge fund industry with roles spanning from research and risk analysis to product design. Most recently, he worked at Unigestion as co-head of investment solutions and prior to that, for Stockholm-based RPM Risk and Portfolio Management. He started his career at the hedge fund Barep (SG) in Paris and then Tokyo. Serge holds a M.Sc. in Econometrics and Finance from the University of Paris Dauphine and a Post-Master degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Paris V.

Chief Technology Officer

Anna Hallerdal

As Chief Technology Officer Anna has the overall responsibility and planning of IPM’s system needs, ensuring that technologies, platforms and architecture are well suited as well as prioritizing the overall demands of in-house developments. Anna brought with her almost two decades of experience from the Fintech industry including the areas of trading, clearing/settlement and banking. She joined IPM in September 2018 from Nordea where she headed a team responsible for development as well as maintenance and IT operations of advisory tools for Nordea Private Banking. Previous employments include Nasdaq and Cinnober Financial Technology where she respectively headed the Risk Verification team and had the responsibility of the development and deliveries of price discovery and pre-trade clearing systems for OTC traded derivatives tailored for NYSE Liffe. Anna has studied computer science, economics and business administration at Stockholm University.

Head of Business Development

Tara Skinner, CFA

Tara Skinner joined IPM’s business development team in May 2016 to spearhead the growth of IPM’s Global Institutional & Strategic Relationships. Tara has joined from Brevan Howard where she spent over six years in the Business Development and Investor Relations team. Before leaving Brevan Howard, Tara held joint responsibility for UK & Scandinavian Institutional Relationships. Prior to that, Tara was part of the Investor Relations team at Carlton Capital Partners, a boutique FoF solutions provider for UHNW and Family Offices and UBS Investment Bank. Tara has a BSc in Accounting and Finance from London School of Economics and Political Science and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Chief Risk Officer

Elisabeth Frayon

Elisabeth Frayon is responsible for risk control, and the assessment and analysis of financial and operational risks. She is a member of the Risk Management committee. Elisabeth joined IPM in 2009 with extensive experience from the financial industry having traded and managed positions in both currency and interest rate derivatives before moving into risk management. Prior to joining IPM, she worked at the Swedish Central Bank as Head of Risk Control for the management of the gold and foreign exchange reserves. Elisabeth holds an M.Sc. in Business Administration and Economics from Linköping University.

Chief Compliance Officer

Måns Österlund

Måns Österlund has the overall responsibility for regulatory Compliance. Måns joined IPM in 2015 with extensive regulatory experience within the financial industry. Prior to joining IPM he served as a Compliance Manager/Money Laundering Reporting Officer at American Express Nordic cluster and prior to that he was a Compliance officer at Carnegie Investment Bank.  Måns holds an M.Sc. in Business Administration and Economics from University of Örebro.
